Fondeado Island is a part of the island province of Palawan.
It consists of twenty (20) hectares which is titled and another twenty (20) hectares representing accretion, totaling forty (40) hectares in all. Among the so many islands, Fondeado is very exceptional as it is titled.
Its location is within HONDA BAY of the East Coast of the capital city of Puerto Princesa. White sands abound in the area. Adjoining it on its western portion is a long stretch of white sandbar measuring approximately half kilometer in length.
The island has fresh water. In and around the surrounding areas are rich in marine life and beautiful corals. Its vegetation is predominantly coconut trees, some mahogany and fruit trees, while mangroves line up along the seashore.
Travel time from Manila to Puerto Princesa City by plane is one hour. Air flights by Philippines Air Lines; Air Philippines and Zest Air have frequencies of twice daily while Cebu Pacific has trice daily. Is is seventeen house by commercial passenger/cargo vessels which fly twice a week.
From Puerto Princesa City to the islet can be reached passing through the fishing village of Tagburos which is ten minutes by car and from there it is thirty minutes by motorized banca. Another route is through Babuyan which is forty-five minutes drive and from there another ten minutes by motorized banca also.
FONDEADO ISLAND is certified by the Office of the City Planning and Development Coordinator the under the Environmentally Critical Areas Network Map of the City of Puerto Princesa, it is within the Multiple Use Zone and Core Zone, thereby a ?resort? is allowed. The island is similar to a rare gem with potentials of a private or world class resort.
Clear, serene sea waters surround the island, very much ideal for snorkeling, scuba diving, and other sea sports.
